Katie Feichtinger, the owner of Frozen Tree, is a lifelong Alaska resident. Born and raised in Eagle River, Alaska she spent most of her youth exploring the surrounding mountains and doodling in notebooks. During this time, she developed her love of trees and found her inspiration for art. Hoping to one day branch the two together she pursued a degree in Forestry at the University of Montana and practiced working with different art mediums on the side including wood, textiles, paint, and pen. In 2014 she fulfilled her goal and opened Frozen Tree Productions.  Her degree helps her select the best pieces of wood for her creations and allows her to commemorate each tree with a visually appealing aspect that families and business can cherish forever. Katie personally handcrafts each product she designs from wood to walls to wearable art.

 

In addition to creating her own pieces, Katie is co-owner of a screen printing company, Gold Bug, located in the Bean Creek Gallery in Cooper Landing, Alaska.  When not in the studio wood burning or painting Katie is seeking adventures in the mountains, rivers, and oceans with her family and friends, both furry and not furry.
